Writing a book? Easy. Capitalising a title. . . infuriating.
Whether you write books, articles, blog posts, or anything and everything in between, I’m sure you’ve run into the title capitalisation obstacle before. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve sat there wondering, Do I capitalise this “as”? What about the “before” here? And then I try the word both ways, going back and forth, wondering which one looks better.
Tell me I’m not alone. I’m an editor, but capitalisation is still tricky sometimes, especially when different style guides have different rules! Luckily, I found a great resource that means I don’t have to second guess my decisions on this anymore.
Capitalize My Title is an incredibly useful and free website that you should bookmark right now. You can plug in a title and have it automatically capitalised to fit whatever style guide you need, and there are additional services offered as well, like a simple SEO headline score checker and a new AI title rewriter.
I use this site all the time, both to make sure my caps are right and to make my headlines more “SEO friendly.” It’s super quick and easy to use, so there’s no excuse for not taking advantage of it. Remember, grammar is important!
