The Yundith’s Fury

No. 20/100 100-word short stories for my 100 follower celebration!

Three. Two. One.

Ayden’s feet pushed from the ground in an almighty leap that vaulted him straight onto the yundith’s back. He winced as his backside collided with a hard, fan-shaped ridge. He’d miscalculated a little, but he easily slipped into the spot in front of the ridge and wrapped his legs around the creature’s torso.

Just in time.

The yundith bucked, rippling its entire body thanks to a flexible skeleton. Ayden’s hands waved in the air, looking for something to grab even though he knew there was nothing. He knew only one thing: he had to hang on.
