Metropolis

No. 15/100 100-word short stories for my 100 follower celebration!

It’s busy, but there’s an order to it. A rhythm. I’ve always thought that big cities are like a human body, with a heartbeat, a nervous system, and cells that rush around too and fro. I wonder if our bodies are this noisy on the inside.

Most say this isn’t a place for stopping, but if you don’t, you miss it all. With every beat of your heart, something new is happening somewhere in this vast metropolis. Even just a blink is a moment missed.

All you can do is learn the rhythm, and move with it as you go.

. . .

This post was inspired by the time I’ve spent in London and New York City; if you enjoy reading about my travels, check out these posts!
