William Windsor

Good morning (or afternoon, or evening), everyone! I’m back today for a fun fact that at least had me smiling this morning!

William Windsor might seem like a normal enough (though very British) name, but in this case it actually refers to a goat. A very special goat.

William Windsor I (also known as “Billy”) actually served as a lance corporal in the British Army. Yeah. For real. He was in the 1st Battalion, the Royal Welsh, from 2001-2009. (There was a brief period where he was demoted in 2006 for unacceptable behaviour during a parade on the Queen’s birthday.)

Rest assured, Billy is still alive and well today, retired and living comfortably at the Whipsnare Zoo.

And with that, I hope you all have a lovely Monday!
