Thanks for showing up today even as you’re stuffed full of turkey, mac and cheese, mashed potatoes, pumpkin pie, and whatever else you eat at Thanksgiving! Personally, my favourite was the apple pie. I promise it’s not just because I made it. . .
Even if you don’t celebrate Thanksgiving, I hope you’ve had a wonderfully relaxing week full of gratitude. To end it, let’s take a look at some inspiring writing posts from this week!
Blog Post Roundup
- Self-editing is key! Take a deep dive into why you should bother doing a self-edit, including a step-by-step guide on how to tackle your editing checklist.
- NaNo is almost over—how are you doing? This reblogged post gives you tips for success in NaNoWriMo; it’s never too late to get ahead and win!
- Get rid of the fluff! Unnecessary scenes are one of the biggest plagues infecting otherwise great books. Learn how to avoid them in this post.
365 Days of Writing
Follow me on Medium for casual writing lessons learned from the daily life of a full-time writer, editor, and author. No new posts from this week because of the holidays, but I’ll be back to my writerly musings next week!
Frabjous Day Press
Keep up with my newest stories on my publishing imprint’s website!
- Old Friends: Sariah’s trophy wasn’t just commemorative: it had the power to change the future of the world. So how has it gone missing? And who took it?
- An Unusual Sort of Hitchhiker: A driver comes across a rather unusual passenger.
- Time: Who can outrun it?
Last Chance for Black Friday Deals!
Black Friday deals are ending this weekend! There are tons of great discounts on writing-related things that you probably don’t want to buy full price. One of my favourite self-publishing resources, Kindlepreneur, has a thorough list of all the writing-related discounts available today and through the weekend. Here are some of the highlights!
- ProWritingAid is 50% off! This software is perfect for writers of all kinds, and this is the cheapest I’ve ever seen it. Last weekend, I actually invested in a lifetime membership, the best deal they offer. Stay tuned for my review!
- AutoCrit is offering a lifetime membership! Since this software only offers monthly subscription plans, the fact they’re offering a lifetime membership, even for a limited time, is huge. AutoCrit is similar to ProWritingAid but is meant specifically for authors.
- reMarkable is offering discounted bundles! The reMarkable is the best writing tool I’ve ever purchased, and right now, it’s cheaper than it’s ever been. It’s still an investment, but they hardly ever offer deals this good. I paid way more for all of my reMarkable materials separately than I would have if they had offered bundles when I bought mine.
- Black Friday and Cyber Monday deals are everywhere! Make sure to look through the writer’s Christmas list I put together and get the gifts now while most of them are on sale!
Have a Great Weekend!
I hope that you’re able to find just what you need from this roundup. Remember, if you like a post you’ve read, be sure to like and comment so I know which topics you want to see more of! See ya next week.
Happy writing!
