Post 500: A Journey of Success, Failure, Success, and Failure Again…

“You’ve reached 500 posts!”

I stopped in my tracks as I saw the notification. Even though there’s a nice big number at the top of the posts page on WordPress, I never really paid attention to it. I just kept posting until—

500. It seems like such a massive number. Considering that each post takes about 30 minutes to an hour to put together, that means I’ve dedicated hundreds of hours to this blog over the past three years. Many of those hours were joyful, while some were grueling. No matter how you get to 500 posts, it’s never an easy journey.

What can I say? 5oo posts later, you all still find value in what I have to say. You still put up with my craziness. You still show up to read my stuff. You still start up conversations in the comments. Ironically, in the same week the blog passed 500 posts, it also passed 300 followers. I know it’s a small number, but it’s meaningful to me; I wish I could walk up to each and every one of you to say “thank you.”

This blog is a big part of my life. When I started it back in 2020, right before lockdown, I never imagined that hundreds of people would care about my words. This blog has helped me to grow astronomically over the years. I’ve learned more about marketing, branding, copywriting, and all things blogging by simply doing than I ever would have reading hundreds of books and articles. And it’s all because of your belief and unwavering support, so thank you.

I know I’m still learning. I know I’m far from being the greatest writing blog out there. But every failure I experience becomes a success because you’ve been willing to give me a chance and help me learn. So, once more, thank you for reading 500 posts, and here’s to 500 more.

Happy writing!

Unfortunately, good stories don’t sell by default. As an indie author, I have to do all my marketing myself! My first marketing goal will take care of advertising costs for my upcoming middle-grade book. I need your help to make it happen! Thank you in advance, and God bless you! ♥️ E.J.
